The Exploration of Simultaneousness
With an extensive series of photographs Hiroyuki Masuyama (*1968 in Japan) dedicates himself to the most renowned Romantic German landscape artist Caspar David Friedrich. From 1987 Masuyama studied painting in Tokyo, Düsseldorf and Cologne. Mounted in LED light boxes his works radiate an immensely potent presence. Helena Horn spoke to Hiroyuki Masuyama for ArtLight.
