TAVA2021 – The world of light
Architectural Lighting and Light Art festival Tartu In Light (TAVA2021) will be held for the third time this autumn in Tartu, Estonia. TAVA2021 is a consistent, international, cross-disciplinary festival of light art and lighting art. The pre- and main events of the festival will last for 30 days.
The main program of the festival consists of international workshops, outdoor installations, a conference, a light fair and indoor exhibitions. Within the framework of the festival, a Light Road will be opened in the centre of Tartu which will bear the overall title Light Games in the City. TAVA2021 understands the importance of sustainability in everyday life and therefore, the art of a light festival should support the ideas of reusability, detachability, changeability, flexibility.

Lightfair is going Hybrid in Autumn 2021
TAVA2021 invites you to participate at the international Lightfair that will take place October 29-30, 2021 in hybrid format: it will be open simultaneously at the Estonian National Museum in Tartu as well as on a virtual platform. Fair booths will be open to the public at the Estonian National Museum but everyone will also be able to visit the fair, get acquainted with the exhibitors, participate at product presentations, webinars, etc. at live online events. We aim to bring together producers and consumers all over the world and raise awareness about the importance of high-quality lighting despite the epidemiological situation. All exhibitors that have booked a booth at the Estonian National Museum will be presented on the web platform both in English and Estonian free of charge. Due to possible travel restrictions we offer foreign companies the possibility to participate with a virtual fair booth only.
LUCI annual general meeting
TAVA2021 conference will be held alongside LUCI annual general meeting. The Lighting Design and Light Art Conference will be held right after the workshop week, when the light festival opens to the public. This professional event aims to enhance knowledge exchange between professionals of different fields and industries. With the conference we hope to connect artists, architects, designers, planners and students interested in the field of lighting design and light art. We aim to create a platform for knowledge exchange and to stimulate cross-sectoral and global thinking in the field of light and lighting design.
LUCI is the only international forum for cities on urban lighting and will feature panel discussions, workshops and open conferences on new lighting trends and projects from cities worldwide.
