Towards the Light
In 1998 the Art Museum of Celle with collection Robert Simon took out the patent of a 24-hours-art museum. After closing the museum at dusk and in the darkness of the night the international light art installations can be seen from the outside. The architectural highlight of the museum is the luminous glass cube colourfully shining at night. Light-emitting diodes, screens, video projectors and neon tubes immerse the house and his surroundings in a coloured light. The luminous works emit light, offer astonishing sights, insights and perspectives.
The house shows art during the day and at night. At the regular opening times paintings objects and sculptures can be seen in the museum. The exhibition SIGNAL shows a choice of light art with about 40 works from the collection. – Celle is sendig luminous signals.
