LIM LIGHTING DESIGN

Iwakuni City Waterworks Bureau, Japan

Minimalism and Beauty

In 2010, Yoshiko Yoshimura founded LIM LIGHTING DESIGN in Hiroshima/Japan to design architectural, residential and landscape lighting. Japanese tradition and culture play a key role in the designs. The abbreviation LIM in the name means Less Is More and goes back to the Japanese Sukiya style, which is based on the simple and functional beauty of a Japanese house where tea ceremonies can be celebrated. In close cooperation with the architects, engineers and contractors, the office supervises a project in all phases, from master planning to site management, including the coordination of interdisciplinary projects. This remit also includes the lighting concept for the Iwakuni Waterworks Bureau, which provides water and waste management services.
