Dominique Jézéquel (*1951, Saint-Paul-trois-Châteaux, France)

In his art he wants to carry us away to another place ..

… another way of thinking that is different to language.

Translucent and monochrome colour fields are projected on glass panels or walls. They generate rhythms and vibrations as well as harmonies or tensions. These chords of mostly four colours contain neither volume nor three-dimensionality and transfer the abstract composition by a strict geometry to a radical minimum.

Being close to concrete art, Jézéquel reaches by digital work highest precision. Light means to him variations of luminosity in the colours. In videos he organizes the chords into serial sequences running in a loop. It’s a question of perception, sensation and feelings. In his art he wants to carry us away to another place, another way of thinking that is different to language.
